Building the American Tamil Education & Culture Center in St. Louis
For nearly 30 years, the Tamil Sangam of Missouri has flourished – growing from a gathering of 25 families into a vibrant community of more than 400. Together, we celebrate our heritage, honor our traditions, and guide the next generation to carry forward the richness of Tamil language and culture.
At the heart of this journey is the Missouri Tamil School. What began with just 10 eager students has blossomed into more than 300 learners across two campuses – a living testament to our commitment to education, preservation, and community.

Now, we look to the future. With the purchase of land at 17800 Mueller Road, Wildwood, Missouri, we are creating the American Tamil Education and Culture Center — a permanent home for our Tamil school, a cultural hub for our community, and a model for Tamil centers across the United States.

Our Mission
The American Tamil Educational and Cultural Center (ATECC) is dedicated to building and maintaining a vibrant community center and Tamil School campus in Missouri. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space for cultural enrichment, language instruction, and community engagement, supporting the educational and cultural activities of the Tamil Sangam of Missouri and the Missouri Tamil School. We strive to foster unity, collaboration, and active participation within the Tamil community and the broader Missouri community.
Our Vision
ATECC envisions a thriving, inclusive community where Tamil heritage, language, and culture are celebrated and preserved for future generations. We aspire to be a cornerstone for cultural exchange, lifelong learning, and community empowerment, strengthening bonds within the Tamil diaspora and building bridges with the wider society in Missouri.
